My experience in local politics began in 2021 when I was elected to the town board of Poughkeepsie representing the residents of the 3rd ward. As a lifelong resident in Dutchess county I wanted a seat at the table in the decision making process. I was privileged to spend 4 years in the municipal role learning how a town runs. Including
My experience in local politics began in 2021 when I was elected to the town board of Poughkeepsie representing the residents of the 3rd ward. As a lifelong resident in Dutchess county I wanted a seat at the table in the decision making process. I was privileged to spend 4 years in the municipal role learning how a town runs. Including how local laws and town code are constructed, how a new business comes to fruition and most importantly how tax dollars are spent.

Part of my civil service as a board member included sitting on the budget committee, the personnel committee and the Conservation Advisory Council. The most impactful was the budget committee because it opened my eyes to how tax dollars are spent. Poughkeepsie is the largest town in Dutchess and includes a paid police department. The town budget is approximately 55 million dollars.

I'm raising my two sons in the same town I was raised. I want what all parents want; safe streets, good schools, low taxes and a beautiful backdrop to experience adolescence and beyond. Our county is changing, the demographics and the landscape alike and that is exciting. Therefore, we must focus on local issues like lowering utility
I'm raising my two sons in the same town I was raised. I want what all parents want; safe streets, good schools, low taxes and a beautiful backdrop to experience adolescence and beyond. Our county is changing, the demographics and the landscape alike and that is exciting. Therefore, we must focus on local issues like lowering utility bills, improving roads and infrastructure and most importantly smart fiscal spending. I want my sons to see that issues can be solved without the rhetoric of emotion signaling that delay change and foster discord.
